I was born and brought up in northern India, where I underwent my grade-school and college education. Inspired by the feats of Indian astronaut and physicist Kalpana Chawla, I developed a fascination for all things outer-space very early in my childhood, which eventually led me to pursue an academic route in astronomy. Growing up, I also played the harmonium, and trained in the classical dance form of Kathak.
Outside of astrophysics, I like spending my leisure time reading plays, Latin dancing, relishing live theatre/music, learning world history, and indulging in culinary crafts. I am also fond of travelling (read: landscapes), and enjoy the occasional adrenaline rush from adventure sports.
